Catch Up Post

This entry is going to be all over the place, because, well I am usually all over the place! I never did talk about my AWESOME Mother's Day gifts. My mom gave me a lot of new products that she got in for the shop and Brett and Moses gave me a Dyson vacuum cleaner! I LOVE IT. Between Moses, the dog, and Brett and I who are "shedders" I vacuum probably every other day. This vacuum is so awesome and I highly recommend it. However, it was time for Moses to say goodbye to the original "vac vac." He loves all vacuums. He will pretend to use it, play with the attatchments and pretend to talk to it. I had to take this picture of him saying "bye bye vac vac." Really, he kept saying it!

This week has been crazy because at the last minute I decided that I wasn't going to let my real estate license expire which meant I had to go to the mandatory update class (4 hours) last night and then do the online CE credit which is suppose to be a four hour class but took me more like 5.5 hours. YUCK! I'm glad I did it though. I worked really hard to get licensed so I guess I will be like the people (no lie) who literally come to class with canes, in wheel chairs and tethered to oxygen tanks!

As for a real Moses update, he's starting to put more words together and learn more everyday. He is so advanced with his motor skills. He amazes me everyday with the coordination he has climbing things. He is also very spirited. I'm working with him on discipline a little harder now. Before we do something like go outside and play or go somewhere we talk about it and what we are and are not suppose to do and what will happen if he disobeys. It's going pretty well. He is not always well behaved but he knows that if he breaks the rules he can't get away with it.

He is still very into playing outside. He loves the water, swing, slide, and his outdoor toys with wheels. He is still a fan of Mickey Mouse who he calls "Ickey." Moses still loves to eat and I love to hear him ask for ketchup (anything he can use for dip) which he calls "pepchuck." He also has a sweet tooth which. This is ok because usually he eats lots of fruits and vegetables.

So that is what he is up to now, I'm sure it will be different in a few weeks. Can you believe two in about two months?!

Slow Down Summer

A few weeks ago I was at a church meeting and I was talking with a few other mothers. One has a little girl who is getting ready to start kindergarten and since it is year round she will begin July 7! This has made me want to take advantage of the freedom that we will have these next few years. So, last Wednesday I packed Moses up and we headed to EI early for the weekend! We stayed a few days and Brett came down on Friday. We played on the "island" and spent time with my parents. Saturday afternoon we headed to see Brett's mom and stepdad and went to their family reunion. We got to play in the pool and with the "water" and bucket.
When Monday rolled around, I thought, why go home! So Moses and I went back to EI and stayed until today. Papa even took some time off work and we played with him a lot. I hope this Summer won't go by too quickly. I plan to make the most of it and make sure everyone has a lot of fun. Since Moses was born, we haven't really been able to afford a real vacation, but we realize not everyone has the good fortune of going to visit parents whose backyard come complete with a waterway and boat.
Moses is all for it too! This little boy LOVES the water and sand. He is so content to play, dig and splash. I have already gone through and entire bottle of the spray on sunscreen for Moses. (I am a sunscreen freak). So, if the blog goes a little quiet, it's because we're outside playing somewhere and being a little carefree. We hope you are doing the same!

21 Months Old!

My little boy is now 21 months old (as of last week)! You are growing so fast. You are getting so tall but you are a skinny thing. I don't know how. You eat soooo much! I hope we don't jinx anything, but you eat anything! You eat what we are eating. You love chicken, pork, and beef and you have even tried shrimp, scallops, and fish. You love fruits and veggies too. The only thing you turned your nose up to recently was nacho cheese.

Your vocabulary is way too big to list. The sweetest thing you say is "love you." You tell people that whenever they leave or hang up the phone. We are still working on putting more of the words together instead of one word commands or questions. You are still really good with your manners. You are very good with please, thank you, and bless you. You remember to say please the most when you want to brush your teeth because you love to do it so much.

You love to do your "chores." Every morning you feed the dog Riley who you have renamed "Ri ri." You love her very much. You also like to give her treats. You love the vacuum or the vac vac. But you are always insisting we "up, put up." You always hand me trash to throw away.

You like to watch cartoons in the morning and right before bed. Your favorite is Mickey Mouse Club House. You ask to watch "Ickey." You sing and dance right along with them. We pretty much stick to the Disney Channel and Sesame Street. You also love music. Your favorite is Ziggy Marley's Family Time. You sing the song I Love You Too when you want to hear it.

I am really looking forward to this summer because you love to play in the sand and the water. We've decided to send you to preschool in the Fall so I want to enjoy all the freedom summertime will give us.

Little boy your daddy and I love you so much. We are so proud of the little boy you are becoming. You are so loving and sweet and we couldn't imagine this world without you. We are truly blessed.

Cool in the Pool

Can I tell you how much easier playgroup is when you involve water. We sat pretty much the entire time! The kids had a blast. I'm pretty sure Moses will sleep well tonight!

Wolfpack Club Caravan.

Last night we took Moses to the Wolfpack Club Caravan. Basically, it's a chance to hear all of the coaches speak. Brett and I have been for the last few years and I decided that it was time to take Moses. I am SO glad we did! Since the event is held on the practice fields the kids have tons of room to run around. They even bring some of the football players and student trainers to play with them. I think Moses was probably one of the youngest out there and he had the time of his life. The big kids were also great with him. They had no problem sharing the ball and being gentle with him. He wanted to play just as hard as them. He even did well eating and listening for a little while. Luckily, Amy came and was a big help distracting. I can't wait to take him again next year!

Mother's Day and Big Bird

I was one lucky mommy this Mother's Day! It started off with breakfast in bed brought to me by my two favorite boys. We were in Emerald Isle, so I got to spend the day with my own sweet mommy. Moses was happy about it too!
We spent the weekend with them and even got in some beach time. Papa decided to introduce Moses to his "pet" Big Bird. This little fellow visits every time there is a net thrown, a fish cleaned, or a crab pot pulled up....which is quite often. Moses just thinks he is a big "quack quack." It was a great weekend and Brett says he is looking forward to Father's Day!

Dressed

I went to see Julie and Travis' sweet baby girl this afternoon after church. This left Brett alone with Moses. He is usually very good about dressing him. I don't know what happened. Yes it was hot, but really?
