A Berry Good Time
Papa's Birthday
We went to the beach last weekend to celebrate dad's birthday a few days early. I think the best gift is some Moses love, and my word does Moses love his papa. I think he would gladly do anything with him. EVERY day I hear something about papa, especially when he see my phone. He'll ask to call papa so he can say "dude!" And if we are talking to Gaga he will say a few things and then ask about his Papa.
We can't wait for the weather to warm up and play with Gaga and Papa on the boat some more!

Conversations with Moses
1. Moses was eating his waffle at my parent's kitchen table, when their dog Sunny took advantage of dangling breakfast. When asked what happen later in the day, this was his story.
Dog! Bad waffle!
2. Pretending to talk on my dad's radio in his truck.
Lo? Dude talk! Bye bye!

20 Months Old
You are our little comedian and will do things to make mommy and daddy laugh. You learn new words every day and sometimes you like the way you say them better (coat = couke). You can follow directions very well (Please go in your room and get your shoes) most of the time. You still love to "dip" your food. Daddy has ranch and ketchup and so should you! You are not eating as much lately but we think it is because you are getting your incisor teeth so very slowly! All of a sudden you have become very attached to your pacifier and your lovey Rocky. You ask for them if you can't find them.
Moses you are starting to understand if ____ then ____. Like if you don't have shoes on then you can't go outside. If you don't hold mommy's hand then you can't go downstairs. You are developing good manners you have added "bless you" to please and thank you without being prompted.
You still love to play with your friends and playgroup. Sometimes you do well in the nursery and other times you are sad. You don't like for people leave while you are there because you think you should too. So far you play well with other children. You even learned how to say your friend Chesson's name!
Who can believe that you will be 2 years old in four months! We love you buddy!

Surprise Spring Fun
Mondays can sometimes be the pits. But with this beautiful weather we are having I want to take full advantage of being outside and enjoying it. I knew I wanted to do something fun but I had no clue what! Well, mom called and she and dad were going to Kinston to go to the dentist. Well that's our halfway mark! So I said we'd meet her for lunch and some playtime.
Dad could only stay for a little bit at lunch. Mom met us first and when he saw her he just smiled and laughed and then a few seconds later he said, "Papa? Papa? Call Papa?" The entire time he waited for him he'd see a white truck and say, "Papa? Truck?" You would have think Santa Claus came in when papa arrived. He is a papa boy. Dad swears he'll have him driving the boat before the end of the summer. Moses also had a blast with his Gaga. We played at the park and enjoyed the sunshine. It was good to see you both!

Somebody Call 911
I have never been one of those girls who was freaked out about spending a night alone. When I was single I had no problem. When I was married, I looked forward to the nights alone when I could have the house to myself. Now that I have a little one, I am totally freaked out! Not only I am waiting for Moses to wake up for some crazy reason, but I am worrying about someone trying to get us. (I think I watch way too much 48 Hours and I Survived)
After sleeping with my phone, and totally thinking I heard someone breaking in about 20 times, Moses and I woke up in one piece and started our day. I put him down for his nap. A few minutes later I looked at the monitor and saw him just sitting there with his legs dangling out. A while later, I checked again and he was lying down with his legs still dangling. I heard him calling about an hour later a little more urgently than he normally does. I went in and realized his leg was stuck between the slats!
I tried to pull him which made him cry. I tried to move the slats but couldn't. I got a hammer and tried that. No luck. I called my parents who were on there way to see how close they were. They still had another hour so dad said, just call 911. I had been worrying all night about calling the police for an intruder and now I'm calling because of a stuck child!
I called and the lady was SO nice. In less then five minutes I had two paramedics and three firemen in Moses' room. I felt incredibly stupid but they told me not to worry. And what was Moses doing during all this? Just hanging out chomping on his pacifier. They tried to turn him but that didn't work and he started to cry. They started looking at the slats worried that they would break them. I told them I did not care. They VERy slightly cracked one at the top of the crib and he came right out! They looked at his leg and determined he was fine and he might have a bruise. I think this all took 7 minutes. So special shout out to the FVFD and paramedics.
Is this a sign we might be growing out of our crib?

Easter!
Brett met us at church on Sunday morning. Moses had been feeling a little under the weather and had been teething and on top of that I did not pack his Rocky and pacifier so we ended up having to leave the service a little early. He perked up in time for lunch and gave us some good smiles for some photos.
Can I tell you how much I love this face? He really enjoyed having my parents here. He is such a Papa's boy too. His personality has really started to come out in the last few weeks. He loves to be silly and play games. He will also sit with you and read a book or watch a cartoon. I am just loving this age!
