It seems like this week has flown by! As far as Moses' milestones and "new things" I do have a few! He is really starting to sit up pretty well. Still not consistently but he is holding his own. We are starting to refer to him as the wiggle worm because he wants to be doing something constantly. He is also starting to get in the push up position some when he is on his belly. I have a feeling crawling is not far off. So, at five months old we are weighing in at 16.9lbs and 26.75 inches long. We did have a check up yesterday due to that same stopped up tear duct. He is now getting some drops which have helped a lot.
Last Friday we started a playgroup. We have about ten mommies with babies ranging from 5 weeks to 8 months. It has been SO AWESOME. I love all of the girls and it is so fun to have lunch and sit on a quilt and watch the babies play. We can swap lots of war stories and get advice from each other. Moses is already playing and interacting with the other babies. All of us really enjoy it.
I'd also like to update everyone on the sleep issues that I mentioned several weeks ago. Things are so much better. Moses has been sleeping through the night nearly every night. Morning naps are going well, but we struggle in the afternoon. Brett has started getting up earlier to spend some time with Moses in the morning. This is helpful especially if I have had to get up in the middle of the night. I also think it is great for the two of them. Since I am at home all day with him, I realize how little awake time during the week Brett actually gets with Moses. The mornings are his happiest times so it is very special for them to have that time.
Another update is with solids. Moses HATES the rice cereal so we have moved on the applesauce and soon other fruits and veggies. He liked those much better, but is still not too thrilled with it. It is so strange because he is also so into what we are eating. He even grabbed a handful of Brett's ice cream at church on Wednesday.
Sorry about the long post! I will try to do it more often. We have some adventures awaiting us this week. (New cooking equipment and visitors!) Love from all of us!
Moses had his first snow! No way will he remember it and no way did he know what was going on but it was exciting for us. Luckily, with couponing and buying deals we were well stocked on food. Everyone gives Southerners a hard time for going a little nuts when they predict snow, but I want to remind those Yankees that we do not have the equipment to handle that kind of weather. We bounce back quicker from hurricanes! Anyways, I learned my lesson in college. Freshman year we were stranded on campus in 20 inches of snow for a week and then senior year we didn't have power for a week due to an ice storm. I SO learned my lesson about getting all the laundry done and having some extra supplies just in case.
Anyways, my parents and I have always had a family rule that if you see snow in the middle of the night you wake up the rest of the family so Brett and I are starting that tradition too. At 4:30am Brett woke me up and told me to come with him. He turned on the back yard lights and there it was! Big flakes were starting to fall! I went back to sleep only to be awoken by Moses at 6am. We put him in the bed with us and kept warm for another hour or so. To my surprise it kept snowing. We ventured outside around 10:30am. I really didn't think we were going to use that snow suit my parents gave him for Christmas! We walked around with him and took some pictures. He kept looking at us like, why are we outside in the cold? It must have been very exhausting for him because he slept from around 11am till 1:30pm! He hasn't done that since he was a few weeks old! 
Brett and I used that time to make some pasta to warm us up. I walked outside some more just enjoying the snow. I love how quiet it gets. It's almost like the snow is muffling all the noise of the world and everything is clean and new. I think it finally quit snowing around 2pm and total we have over 7 inches. The most we have had in about five years. This has given us a four day weekend together...maybe five if it has not cleared up tomorrow. The only thing is that with all the new technology Brett can work from home which means he doesn't have the day off. Sometimes technology is not so great! Still wonderful to have him home! Getting married in January after the holidays was the best idea. No one really has plans and most people are kind of bummed that all the parties and fun are over. The only big fear I had about the entire thing was an ice storm. I wasn't worried about no one showing up, but that my poor father would be busy organizing power crews and not able to enjoy himself. Well, being that you can never tell what winter weather can be like in NC, we were very pleasantly surprised to be dealing with temps in the 70's. Who would have thought?
I spent the few days before the wedding holed up in a hotel with my buddy and maid of honor Joelle. SO MUCH FUN!! She was exactly the calming influence I needed. She even kidnapped my phone for two hours one day and insisted I nap. I also had a hotel full of friends and family for the rest of the weekend. It was wonderful. By the way.
