Things that GO!

One of Moses' first words was "go." Now, every morning when he wakes up he runs down the hall yelling, "Go, go, GO!" So no surprise here that he loves things that go. Last night, we had to make sort of an emergency trip to the doctor due to Moses breaking out in hives. (He's fine!) By the time we left it was late so we had to stop to get a bite to eat before we went back home. This really nice older couple was behind us and we chatted with them while we ate. To my surprise the gentleman got ready to hop on his Harley that was parked next to us! Moses wanted to touch the bike which I was discouraging (I know motorcycle people are sort of picky about their bikes). This sweet man picked Moses up and plopped him right on the bike! He sat and listened to the radio for a few minutes and when I went to pick him he wouldn't budge. His new friend picked him up and went to hand him over and Moses decided he'd rather stay with him! I swear that little boy was looking for a new family yesterday!

This morning Moses had his first ride on the lawn mower. He loved that too. He wanted to do the entire lawn with daddy. We thought that was a little dangerous, so we let him watch most of the mowing from the deck. We were on the go the rest of the day with wagon rides, walks in the stroller, and trips to the store. The little boy was out by 6:30pm. The big boy was out by 7:30pm. We are loving Spring!

This time of year we have an open window policy at our house. This year, two of our shorter occupants have learned how to climb in and out as they please. Usually the dog wants to be inside and the little boy wants to be outside. But they do love each other!

March Madness

Not basketball, just our lives! Isn't it amazing how the weather can completely change your days? Moses loves to be outside. We've been taking a long walk/stroller ride in the mornings and then playing on the porch. (It's nice to have a personal trainer!) After naps we are back at it again playing in the driveway and the backyard.
In other news, this sweet little boy is eating me out of house and home. Can you spot the food smeared on his adorable face? The no shirt look because he must feed himself? It's crazy! He would eat all day if I let him. Sometimes he will eat three Nuitragrain waffles for breakfast! His appetite continues all day with lunch and snacks and of course dinner. During the day he'll look at me and say "cracker?" or "cheese?" If he sees me eating things he wants a bite too. What am I going to do when he's a teenager?

Bugs, Coats, and Snow

The stomach bug. YUCK. It officially crawled into our house Thursday. I'm hoping that it as been exterminated. Toddlers do not know how to tell you they are going to puke. YUCK again. Bless his heart he really does not understand what is going on. Brett and I also have been battling this stomach thing as well. I am living a stir crazy life and ready for it to be done! I hate the thought of giving this virus to someone else so we are sitting tight for at least another day.

Regarding the above picture, well, first of all I would like to say I promise I dress my child. But at dinner we tend to eat messy foods. And of course toddlers are messy eaters so I usually strip him to avoid too much trouble. But, we are going through a stage where Moses loves to put on his coat and boots and walk around the house (and/or beg to go outside or go somewhere). I think he is very ready for some warm weather!

We are starting to think of snow as a bad four letter word. Maybe tomorrow will be the last time we will see it. This household needs some good old fashioned vitamin D!

Spring Training

A little rise in the temperature means baseball is in the air! Brett and Moses went to opening day for NCSU baseball on Friday. Apparently he did really well. He was able to walk around the stadium and sat for a while and cheered on the Pack while eating some crackers.
After watching the game, Moses was ready for batting practice with daddy. We do have one thing to work on. Every time Moses hits the ball he runs inside the garage, or "home." We'll work on base running another day!

Funny Valentine

We had a playgroup Valentine party last week. I was a mess and left my camera at Amanda's house so I am just now getting around to posting this! We made Valentines, well the mommies did. Moses ate and apple while everyone else gave a scribble or two!

Big Boy Haircut and a Half Birthday

Today Moses is 18 months old! He's on the downhill slide to the big 2! To celebrate, Moses had his first "big boy" haircut. He's had it snipped here and there but the baby mullet/Amish boy look was not working for him anymore. Doesn't he look sweet?! He has a cut just like his Papa.

I will fill you in on what is going on with him since I missed 17 months (ooops!). His vocabulary increases every day! He has added ball, duck, goat, truck, car, throw, out, nose, bath, cookie, cracker, chicken, milk, water, please, thank you, vacuum, and a bunch I can't remember right now! He can tell you a dog says "woof, woof" and a duck says "quack, quack." He "counts" down the stairs but his favorite number is two. He also likes to make the vroom noise with his cars and trucks.

Probably the thing he likes the most is putting on shoes and trying to walk in them. He'll put them on and pick up a bag and walk to the door and tell us "bye, bye." I can tell he is ready for spring because he begs to go "out" all the time!

We are still waiting for his incisor teeth to come in. He will still chew on things and we think they are coming in soon but we have been saying that for about six weeks. We have started doing "time outs" these last few weeks for disobedience. Somedays it's five and some days I swear it's fifty. I can tell a big difference once he has had time to think about what he has done.

No doctor's appointment yet, but he is getting so tall! He is wearing 18month pants and 24 months or 2T tops and pjs. He still has his little baby belly and cheeks so I will enjoy those while they are still here.

After not caring at all about clapping, he FINALLY has started this week! He even tried snapping his fingers before clapping became important. He still loves to dance and we play Ziggy Marley's Family Time a lot. He loves the show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and a lot of the other Playhouse Disney stuff. He will only focus on it for about a minute at a time but he loves it when they play music.

We love you Mr. Moses! We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
